REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS IGNORE SUPREME COURT MISCONDUCT; INSTEAD ATTACK ACADEMIC COMMISSION

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 24, 2022) — This afternoon, a Politico report revealed that Rep. Jim Jordan and his Republican colleagues are using their power to harass members of President Biden’s Supreme Court commission and those who communicated with it.

“I guess it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Jim Jordan is turning a blind eye to the real abuses of power happening right in front of his face,” said Take Back the Court Action Fund President Sarah Lipton-Lubet. “Jordan’s right about one thing: there’s an effort afoot to undermine the Court’s independence. But that call is coming from inside the house, with the justices blatantly colluding with Republican special interests and violating ethics norms. So as long as these lawmakers are suddenly interested in the Court’s integrity, perhaps they should start by investigating the special treatment the justices received during its internal Dobbs leak inquiry?”
